Company Overview

The cost of running a professional sales team has soared over the last decade. This has led to the decline in the number of food manufacturers and brand owners employing their own sales teams to service the independent trade. However, the convenience sector still represents a major income stream which cannot be ignored. Fortune Foods was formed as a partnership to fill this gap in 1999. After one year successful operation, the company was reformed into a limited and from then it addressed its core activities as food wholesaling and distribution.

In 2006, we changed our business direction after Foodstuffs (New Zealand's biggest grocery distributor) launched its own Distribution Center in Palmerston North. We re-positioned ourselves as a Food Broking Firm and specialised on the chilled food sector. During the past few years, there has been a significant growth in both our annual turnover and the number of staff. We are now representing some leading chilled food brands such as Sanitarium and Naked Organics and has covered the whole lower North Island market.

Our clients are the foundation of our business so our highest priority is always given to better satisfy the needs of your business with our professional services. Our general task is sourcing and delivering products from you to the market in an effective and efficient manner to obtain the highest sales and minimize the costs. As good relationships create success, we work closely with your business and we are keen to understand your unique needs. On a case by case basis, we help you enter the New Zealand market and construct local sales channels if you are introducing a new brand or a new product range and we identify market opportunities and develop marketing plans for you to make you one step ahead your rivals.

We are experienced in working with the Distribution Center

We have been liaising strongly with Foodstuffs' centralised warehouse - the Distribution Center in Palmerston North to ensure the availability of the stock at peak at all times. We have also been communicating promotional programes and keeping a close link with Foodstuffs' grocery buyers in order to help the owners of the brands to smooth flow of the relationships.
